The Power Rangers franchise is no stranger to mysteries, such as where the Green Ranger Coin came from. But as the story of the colourfully dressed defenders of the universe is expanded upon through the BOOM Studios comics, the curtain is slowly lifted on some of the secrets that have left fans baffled for years!
Boom studios
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic books have been a global financial success and we think it is definitely a must-read for every Power Rangers fan. Instead of focusing on a younger audience, the comics are intended to appeal to grown-ups who have been watching the series ever since they were kids. Due to this, the writers have the agency to create more detailed plotlines and larger story arcs.
One of the most interesting stories is that of Jason, Zack and Trini leaving the team in season 2. It was told that they left for an international peace conference, but BOOM Studios shows us that this was just a cover.
The story
It follows up after the Shattered Grid storyline. It appears the event has left some scars in the main universe that connect to the Morphin Grid. Some beings got access to the powers from the Morphin Grid through this, and there is only one person the emissaries trust to handle this: Jason lee Scott. With the help of his friends Zack and Trini, they must stop this new threat using ancient morphin technology from the Omega Rangers.
Are they up for this challenge? And what secrets lie in the history of the Omega Rangers? Find it out in the story that starts in Go Go Power Rangers #21!
A unique team
In my opinion, the cool thing about the Omega Rangers is the fact that they are very different from the teams we have seen so far. They search for the fight instead of passively waiting for it to happen, confronting the enemy and going beyond their limits to stop them.
Their story evolves from Go Go Power Rangers #21 to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #100 and is still ongoing. This is an incredible story with an incredible team. If you liked Jason, Zack and Trini and want to see them in a more grown-up storyline, these are the ones to read.
